Author Chase Madar features three deserving clemency candidates in an opinion article written for Al Jazeera America

Euka is serving two life sentences for cocaine conspiracy. Larry is serving a life sentence for marijuana importation. Alice is serving life for cocaine conspiracy.

These cases are also featured in a remarkable ACLU report on the more than 3,200 inmates in the U.S. serving life sentences for non-violent offenses. The report, A Living Death: Life Without Parole for Nonviolent Offense, was wriiten by Madar's wife, ACLU human rights researcher Jennifer Turner.

The photo features Larry Duke, now 67, with his wife and grandson.
